Another game high scoring notch for Jackie Carmichael as he finishes above the 20 mark and John Wilkins comes in just behind him with what may have been a career high for him.  Both rattled the rim twice.  Jon Ekey was the victim of 5 fouls and spent the last half a dozen game minutes watching as maybe the most excited spectator. Josh Brent a graduate of Bloomington Central Catholic, Univerity of Illinois - a nose tackle for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League is reportedly under arrest for intoxication manslaughter after flipping his car overnight killing a team mate passenter Jerry Brown. While at Bloomington Central Catholic, Josh was a multi-sport athlete competing in football, basketball and others. Last night, December 7th, the Lady Redbirds of Illinois State took down the Wildcats of Northwestern. Led by Jamie Russell's 24 points and 10 rebounds, the Redbirds outscored the Wildcats 64-46 at the final buzzer. Citing advice to leave a high pressure 7 day a week job for his better well-being, Al Bowman has announced he plans to retire as soon as a suitable replacement can be found. Bowman is nearing 60 and has led Illinois State University for the past 9 years and been a part of the ISU family for 34.  He is the schools 17th president and is very popular in that post.  He can often be found at Redbird Arena for any event being held there and is also spotted at the other sporting venues on Campus.  He's seen as much without a coat and tie as he is wearing them. Two great games at Shirk last night for the Boys intercity.  One always fun rivalry - West v Community, with a twist this year.  Three Seibrings played.  Two brothers for NCHS and  their cousin for West. Then, it was the title game between Uhigh and Bloomington.  Very up tempo.  Bloomington charged out to the lead, but University came back in the 4th quarter to claim the W and the award. The last of the football seasons regular season games are now over for Alan Look Photography .  The last was the competition for the crown in the Missouri Valley Football Conference between North Dakota State Bison and the Illinois State Redbirds .  We have a gallery from this game. Basketball season is starting up.  There have already been some college games and some girls high school games.  Boys high school will start this week.  We've been fortunate to cover several girls intercity games for the Normalite and  Best Look Magazine . Triopia trumped the Le Roy Panthers today by 2 points.  It was a knock down, drag them out, take an inch up the middle game from the beginning.  The stadium was packed, parking a premium, and the weather cooperative!  What a season the Panthers had.  11-1.
