Josh Brent arrested in Texas

Josh Brent a graduate of Bloomington Central Catholic, Univerity of Illinois - a nose tackle for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League is reportedly under arrest for intoxication manslaughter after flipping his car overnight killing a team mate passenter Jerry Brown.

While at Bloomington Central Catholic, Josh was a multi-sport athlete competing in football, basketball and others.

Football season gets started with ISU Redbird Red-White Scrimmage

The local football season kicked off today with the Illinois State Redbird Red-White scrimmage.  A healthy combination of fans and students attended the event and the preliminary activities which included the annual student promo photo on the field in Hancock Stadium with the Big Red Marching Machine, cheerleaders, flag corp, and Redline Dancers forming ISU all wearing red shirts. High School football will follow in 13 days with the first Friday Lights games. Get out this fall, support your local teams and see some of the great talent that passes through our communities! Do it Yourself fresnel lense flash extender

A few short weeks ago, I was shooting a night time IHSA playoff game at Normal Community West High School and ran in to a fellow shooter and friend. As I made my way around the field to say hello and chat for a couple seconds, I noticed something that made me take a second look. On his flash unit was an extender. I'd heard of Better Beamers before but had never seen on in person, still haven't. His unit was a dozen or so years old and while it used the fresnel lense technology like the Better Beamer, it was made by someone else. Inquiring about just how much it would help and what if any side effects there were, I decided to look into one.
