Illinois State falls to Missouri State Bears

Another day spent on the grid iron at Hancock Stadium.  The new upgrades to the east side are starting to look more positive.  Most of the work is still sub terrain, but the word is that it will start becoming visible in the later half of November.  The last game this season - unless there is post season here - will be at noon on November 14th.  I'm hoping for some steel structure to be visible by then So, the coverage today was for Best Look Magazine and the Normalite .  Be sure to check out each.  A teaser gallery is at Alan Look Photography . Big news today was the lose to Missouri State, but a highlight for Illinois State was the passing today added enough to Matt Brown's total that he is now the leader in pass completion yards of all time in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

HOIC Football Title decided on Wilder Field

Le Roy Panthers and Tri Valley Vikings were both undefeated until last night when they  met at Tucci Stadium on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University.  It was a Vikings "home game" and was pepped up by the Tri Valley announcer in the booth.  The Home side bleachers were pretty packed and the visitors side was full and the fence line crowded.  Still one team or the other was going to walk away defeated and the HOIC title would go home with the other.  Even in the sorrow of defeat, there is some resolve as both teams have won enough games to score a game in the first round of the IHSA playoffs which will begin next weekend and the match ups should be announced soon. Le Roy left victorious. Alan Look Photography was there covering for the Normalite Newspaper Group (LeRoy Leader) and Best Look Magazine .  Be sure to check out each link. Ridgeview, Tri-Valley, Illinois State, Drake, Youngstown State

Several coverages this past weekend for the Normalite Newspaper group, Best Look Magazine and Alan Look Photography . On Friday Night, it was to Colfax for Ridgeview Mustangs hosting the Tri Valley Vikings for homecoming.  I'll apologize in advance, I have about 100 more images for this gallery if the computer shop can recover them from my crashed Mac.  Right now, chances look good.  Those 100 images contain all of the shots of the band. On Saturday it was football at Illinois State with the Redbirds hosting Youngstown State Penguins and then in the evening the Volleyball Redbirds took on the Drake Bulldogs .  Click on any of the links for photos and news links. John Power also covered Central Catholics football game .

2012 Bloomington Fire Truck Parade

Nothing ruins a good fireman convention like a fire call.  The Bloomington Township Fire Department received a call which took them away from the display of trucks after the parade finished.  They had four of the approximately 30 vehicles on display.  No details on the fire, but we hope everything went well and no injuries or loss of property were experienced. Trucks from many McLean County and Central Illinois departments were represented.  Some I recall were Arrowsmith, Ellsworth, LeRoy, Gridley, Randolph Township, Bloomington, Bloomington Township, Towanda, and Peoria.  I'm sure there were others. Be sure to check the November issue of Best Look Magazine for a short story and some images.  There is also an image gallery at Alan Look Photography .

Like a sputtering car in need of repair

Like a sputtering car in need of repair, that's how it was for Alan Look Photography and the Illinois State Redbirds this weekend.  Circumstances beyond our control forced us to miss all the great Friday night high school football.  West was at Bloomington - Bloomington won, Ridgeview played LeRoy - LeRoy won, UHigh played and won, and Normal Community played MacArthur and won.  Those are just a few of the local games.  Any would have been great to see. The ISU Redbirds took on the Salukis of Southern Illinois for Homecoming.  It seemed like every time they got to moving forward the exhaust would backfire and the ball would move the other way.  They were ranked #9 and were undefeated with 5 wins, the best record since the 1960's.  Five and one is still an awesome record, but we will just have to wait and see what happens to the ranking (does it really matter?), SIU v ISU Photo Gallery I lost track of just what John Power was covering this weekend fo...

Le Roy always supports their Panthers

For as long as I can remember Le Roy has always been a big football town.  The stands were always full in the '70s when I was in a competing high school and they are still full every time I go down to shoot.  Last night was no different as they sent Blue Ridge Knights packing back to Farmer City as the Panthers won their Homecoming. Be sure to get your copy of Best Look Magazine .
