Todd Kober leaving ISU for Kansas

I haven't seen this in the mainstream media yet and neither the Redbirds or Jayhawks websites have any information, but 2 very reliable sources have informed me that Todd Kober, Associate Athletic Director - Media Relations, is leaving Illinois State for Kansas.  Todd has been at ISU since the early part of this century.  He's worked for at least 3 different Athletic Directors during his stay.  He will be following Dr. Sheahon Zenger to Kansas.  Dr. Zenger left Illinois State earlier this year. http://alanlook.photoshelter.com/image/I0000Lzbb2RanFUQ  - photo of Todd http://alanlook.photoshelter.com/image/I0000.CuABInBvag  - photo of Dr. Zenger It was early in Dr. Zenger's tenure that Todd Kober approached him about a statue commemorating the presence of player Doug Collins and coach Will Robinson be place near the north entrance to Redbird Arena.  The statue was built and placed in that location and dedicated in 2009.  It will be considered o...

Nelson garners Hutchinson Endowment

Chloe Nelson was the 2012 recipient of the Jill Hutchinson Endowed Scholarship award.  Reported on the Redbirds Website on June 19th, Coach Stephanie Glance stated that "Chloe is a class act, both on and off the court, and well deserving of such an honor." Nelson started 16 games last season and played in all 32.

Dana Ford back to Redbirds

The local papers are reporting today that Dana Ford will leave Wichita State and return to Illinois State.  The article states that the Shockers have confirmed that Dana is no longer a coach on their staff and that sources at Illinois State confirm he has been offered a position on Dan Mueller's staff but that HR processes have not been completed. Paris Parham is reportedly leaving the staff.  No further information on Assistants Rob Judson or Anthony Beane . Images of the Redbirds are available for viewing and licensing at www.alanlook.com

Nic Moore moves on

I'm pretty much lost for any commentary.  The past week has been a rollercoaster in Redbird Basketball.  First reports of Rob Judson being named head coach were incorrect and former Redbird Dan Mueller was hired.  A day later stand out freshman Nic Moore announces his departure. Welcome Dan Mueller, Best wishes Nic Moore . All our Illinois State Redbird Photos

Is Rob Judson next?

Depending on which local news report you read or hear, Rob Judson  is destined to be Illinois State Redbirds next Basketball Coach.  People high in the ISU Athletics Office at last account have stated that no decision has been made. Rob is not an unfamiliar face amongst Illinoisans.  He was an assistant at Illinois and Head Coach at Northern Illinois (74 - 101) before becoming one of Tim Jankovich's assistants at Illinois State 5 years ago. Rob was instrumental in building the current Redbirds squad which returns all 5 starters next season and just may be the logical glue to hold the team together for a run at the Missouri Valley Title next season.
